![]() ![]() The bill was delivered to our table and we were told to make payment at the counter. Then we asked for the bill as we both couldn’t have too late of a night. We lingered for a bit, savouring a beautiful meal and a hearty catch up. Superb! I would have the champagne and berry jelly again in a heartbeat. The éclair took me by surprise as my first bite revealed a caramel cream filling instead of the expected custard. I also picked up a sacha torte on my way back to the table. Who can go past M&Ms? After the ice cream, I returned to collect a number of the mini desserts my friend had recommended including the champagne and berry jelly and the éclair. There were four flavours on offer and I chose the mango sorbet and the macadamia nut ice cream, which I topped off with M&Ms. I spied ice cream, and being a 6 year old inside, decided I would definitely have some. Both dishes were delicious and I would have them again.ĭessert was a foregone conclusion and we made our way to the dessert section. Everything was superb and I loved how the pappadums had visible bits of cumin seeds in them and were not oily at all.įrom the other warm dishes, I had the barramundi in a creamy dill sauce and the Arabic chicken. The Indian section was particularly enticing and I helped myself to lamb rogan josh, curried vegetables and basmati rice with some pappadums and a spoonful of cucumber raita. I would have had more of the onion sourdough if I hadn’t feared filling up on bread before getting around to the other offerings. It was soft and tasted just like caramelised onion! I had this with a generous pat of butter. I had the onion sourdough from the boulangerie and it was out of this world. ![]() I love the chermoula potato salad and the red cabbage coleslaw from the selection of salads. Tasty and tender with not a single tough edge, just how it should be. The smoked salmon from the cold starters was superb. It was almost too beautiful and I had to tell myself to take it easy and pace myself lest I get too full too quickly. There were various stations including one for bread, oysters, cold starters including sushi and smoked salmon, salads, warm dishes including an Indian section, ice cream, dessert and a magnificent chocolate fondue fountain. I was very excited about the food and we soon made our way to the buffet itself. I think it is an excellent deal if you are going to have more than one glass. I declined as I can usually only drink one glass of alcohol at a time, while my friend decided to partake. It was $28 per person and included as much as you wanted from a selection of two sparkling wines, two white wines and two red wines. We were quickly approached by a waitress who gave us the wine list and told us about the wine buffet. Thyme2 is quite elegantly furnished with dark tones and a carpeted floor where the tables are. He then took us to our table overlooking ANZAC Square with a view of the clock tower. We went to the counter near the entrance and the staff there looked up my booking. We were one of the first patrons to arrive, making our way from the Cuvee Lounge where we had met for pre-dinner drinks. I made the booking online on the Dimmi website. I had a voucher from Dimmi which I wanted to use and Thyme2 was one of the selected restaurants it could be used at.
